During the past few months I’ve been working with the LogoLoft to create a logo that I can use to brand the CLEARthinking™ course and materials. It has been a very interesting and enjoyable experience.

Here’s the final result:

If you have previously downloaded the free mini-course you understand the significance of the letter “A” being represented by a tripod. I want to thank Marty Greif for that very creative suggestion.

While my work with LogoLoft is finished I plan to experiment using different colors for the “thinking” part of the logo. I would really appreciate hearing your thoughts about that in particular as well as any comments you might have about the logo itself.

Bernie -

I love the new logo! From a sheer visual standpoint, it’s VERY engaging - captures your attention right away. As a tactical element, it’s now made me quite curious about your mini-course.

Seems like a perfect logo for your venture. Best of luck with it. I’m impressed at the way you’re moving forward with all of this!

Hi, Bernie.
I LOVE the new logo! It doesn’t just make me think of “clear” in terms of clear thinking, but getting clear on what I want to accomplish. Hence, the tripod. It makes me think of a telescope as in looking ahead.
Since I have taken the mini-course, I am famimliar with the different colors you mention. So it seems only logical that each letter would be a different color of the system. The more color, the better … at least that’s my humble opinion.
And I know you didn’t ask for this, but while I’m on the subject … I really learned a lot from the mini-course and can hardly wait to recommend the full version to my colleagues and clients.
Hope to see you in Orlando in April.

Love it Bernie!

Works well with your three-prong approach (thus tripod).

mmm, after watching your mini-course, it makes total sense; more, even if i knew it is about a tripod, my eyes saw it first as a telescope - which for me means introspection, inquiry, focused attention - and this relates completely to your clearthinking ‘ content- so, in one word: ‘well done’ :-)

It does not work for me. You are about decision making, not tripods.

Three-pronged approach would better be a triangle or a trident figure, not a tripod.

Tripods are good for making clearer images, but in this context, that link is tenuous at best.

Here’s your acid test - isolate your image from the rest of the logo and survey a random group of people asking them what it means.

I’m betting there will be zero responses dealing with decision making and oodles for photography or surveying.

Thanks Cindi, Mark, Mia, George and Jim for the great feedback. Your input is very helpful.

CLEARthinking is not a “three-pronged approach” so I’m not sure where those comments are coming from. Perhaps I’ve created some confusion about that in the mini-course. If so I’ll need to make sure I don’t make the same mistake in the full course,

I like it. I agree with some of the earlier comments that it ties things together nicely. The colors work well too; keep them simple so that it still shows well if you need to reproduce it in black/white or greyscale.

Bernie,

Your logo is excellent. I like the clarity connection of the tripod and the title of the training.

Bernie, I decided to look at your logo based on its own merits rather than through the lens of your Clear Thinking mini course. I have to agree with Jim. For me, the tripod has only a tenuous reference to the idea of clear thinking.
I get that the tripod is used to steady a camera for a ‘clear’ shot, but that’s a photograph, not a thought.
I believe that you need a much simpler and more direct representation of your theme for this to be an effective logo.
Software will not do that for you, you need to have a brilliant idea that is easily recognizable.
EG: Clear thinking = a fuzzy image coming into sharp focus
Clear thinking = transparent skull?
Clear thinking = see-through skull with working brain
Clear thinking = logical thought process
Clear thinking = solved Rubix Cube as brain
Just my first few ideas, nothing has really stuck.
But you get the idea. Think you have a fairly obscure result here, you need to do some more brainstorming.
As far as the colors go, I think the two blues clash.
Go with contrasting colors or colors that match, not colors that clash.
For a logo that is intended to represent ‘clear thinking’, you might want to put more thought into it just with pencil and paper, forget the software. Go back to your computer when you have an obvious idea that really ‘clicks’.
You should NOT have to explain what the tripod is doing there.
